Connected Through Love

It’s a new year, people! And it is going to be a doozy for sure. I’ve decided that I’m going to take the wait-and-see approach to all the upcoming chaos and be in control of the things that I actually can. I must say, I’m pretty proud of myself so far.

  1. I started the blog that I’ve been thinking about for… probably years it this point? Let’s not put these things off!
  2. I have done yoga every day. I used to do this pretty faithfully starting during the pandemic pretty much until I had a baby 15 months ago. I actually haven’t stepped foot in a studio since they shut down at the beginning of COVID; it’s been all apps and YouTube for this girl. Well, having a baby and nursing her will definitely jack up your back, especially if you don’t listen when they say to bring the baby to the breast. I have been hunched over like a Quasimodo milk cow for over a year. Not to mention the co-sleeping.
    1. Speaking of yoga, what really helped get me started with a bang this year was Yoga with Adriene‘s seven day series, Prana. As is usual with her videos, she reiterates that we are all connected through love, and she reminds us regularly to breathe love in and out. Yet am I the only one who finds that incredibly hard to do? Maybe it’s this postpartum time of life, but I barely have time to find love for myself, let alone the people who I love in my life. That’s sad to write, but it’s been weighing on me that it feels difficult to let the love flow.
  3. I’ve been reading (listening to) Lily Nichol’s new book, Real Food For Fertility, and I have been learning so much about nutrition! Her previous books convinced me during the pandemic to stop being a vegetarian after over a decade. This one is on another level. Needless to say, I’ve been upping my protein game. I hope to lose weight? I still look five months pregnant. We’ll see what happens, but at least I know I’m eating nutrient dense foods!

2025 will no doubt be a year for the books. So many things are out of our control, and we’ll have to watch the show and pray for the best. Lets try our best to breathe love in and let love flow, for ourselves, for our loved ones, and for those who need it the most, even though that is sometimes easier said than done. Namaste.
